“Maybe a decade ago Times Magazine did an article on what the future generation is going to look like. Because like we changed the new generation. It was not a white child, it was a mixed baby. And they are beautiful and they are gorgeous. But that's scary for white Christians. That's scary for nationalists and that's scary for Republicans because they don't wanna be outnumbered. Even though that's an idea and a narrative that they shouldn't even be following because America is supposed to be for everybody. You know? I think that there's also a miseducation among white women when it comes to feminism and like being able to understand like why people are fighting for it. I think that the church needs to get its shit together and start speaking up more. And I think that our country doesn't know how to separate religious religion and state. So that's like the major thing.”

Interview/Survey Quotes

“We live in Connecticut, right?, so like I think we know what way things are gonna be swayed here. But it all kind of comes down to like the bigger picture. I think fortunately people can vote one way, but it comes down to like the people who are in our government who are making the final say and like whoever is president at the time. ”

“Because I know from my religious background (Catholic), it’s abortion is murder and that's what a lot of people believe. But I think it's just a lot of people are very focused on it's murder and there's no other reason why you should be doing it. And I think that they’re just like overlooking, the fact that it could save someone else's life if you do it.”

“I think there's like one Frederick Douglas had like, but he basically said if you are able to read and write, you have an infinite freedom to educate yourself. Obviously he's not a public figure like that's alive right now, but like you have the ability to educate yourself then you know what you can do to help yourself and to help other people. And that's a privilege and that's power that you should use.

“My heart really hurts for women and families in those states who unfortunately have to find ways around it. And I also feel terrible for like doctors who are like having to force themselves to do things that they were trained not to. And unfortunately, like I said, my hope is that we can get back to a place where women and medical professionals are protected and valued and that the woman's body is valued. ”

“I think that my religious beliefs are different because I believe that you should be helping people all the time. Jesus was supposed to help you. Unfortunately we have people that are stupid and ignorant and like to twist words. Not everybody knows this, but the Bible that we follow isn't the actual Bible. It's been translated about over a hundred times and people don't really know the original meaning of it because it was in Hebrew”

“I think it comes down to religion because of this like crazy obsession that they have with life. You know, I think that unfortunately it's really kind of like, not just in like politicians circles, but like they are now like really grabbing the attention of these like extremists, like there's like mothers against abortions. There's like, The proud boys and stuff who are white supremacist groups, but also are, pro-life. And so they have like these like weird conflicting groups associated with this movement of, of conserving life. But then, you know, there's no regard for the child after it's born, you know, because they like to cut programs in assistance.”
